Modern fabrics used for both lingerie and stockings /hosiery contain a certain amount of stretch, but very often it is just not enough and the more voluptuous lady has to opt for dedicated ‘plus sizes’ to feel comfortable and obtain a better fit.

Mainstream lingerie markets still cater mainly for unrealistic body types – standard sizes which are shown to us in Photoshop’d glossy magazine spreads worldwide. Until recently, curvy women or ‘BBWs’ were not offered the same options for their plus size lingerie as those who were ‘average’ sized.  However, more and more designers now include larger sizes into their ranges and photo shoots incorporate ‘real’ women, so plus size ladies now have a lot more choice.
