The great thing about today’s vintage shapewear – as opposed to wearing ‘actual’ vintage, is that you can still achieve that fabulous retro pinup look using modern fabrics which are a lot more comfortable to wear than those the originals were made in.
The majority of patterns are based on authentic styles but with the use of polyamide, Nylon and Lycra / Elastane coupled with more flexible plastic boning in waspies and waist cinchers so the finished garment is not as ‘rigid’ as the cotton / rayon used in the 1940’s and 1950’s. You can achieve an hourglass figure in minutes with our retro shapewear, from a simple bullet bra and open bottom girdle to a waspie or laced corset.
